· DRY CARGO

Simpson Spence Young Tankers division has over 70 brokers worldwide working on behalf of almost all of the worlds oil companies, traders, shipowners and operators. Their tanker team handles chartering requirements on a global basis for spot, contract of affreightment and time charter, for the carriage of crude oil & refined petroleum products in all sizes.

· DERIVATIVES

Their Futures brokerage was established in 1997 and has grown to include not just freight derivatives but also iron ore, steel and coking coal derivatives. Derivatives are now a core part of Simpson Spence Youngs total business and form a key element of the added value they offer all group clients. They are represented on all the Baltic panels, and are founder members of the Forward Freight Agreement Brokers Association.

· SALE & PURCHASE

New building contracting and secondhand sales are a core business, and are handled by some of the most experienced brokers in the business. In response to today's fluctuating market conditions, they also handle demolition sales. Through close working relationships with major shipyards across the globe, built up over many years, Simpson Spence Young has been able to facilitate a large volume of contracting business.

· CHEMICAL

Simpson Spence Young Chemicals Department has a team of marine specialists that handle all aspects of vessel transportation from chartering of all sizes and types of chemical tankers to vessel operations. Spot charters, contracts of affreightment, time-charters and contract management are covered around the globe for a vast range of cargoes including easy chemicals, vegetable oils and biofuels and for every major trade lane.

· GAS

Formed in April 2004, the Liquefied Gas department employs brokers in Simpson Spence Youngs London, Singapore, Mumbai, and Shanghai offices. The department works on behalf of clients includes LNG and LPG projects, spot, medium-term and long-term chartering. The department is also active in newbuilding and second-hand ship sale and purchase involving liquefied gas carrier tonnage.
