Abstract:The Malta Financial Services Authority warns that Vantage Markets, also known as Vantage FX, is operating without a license in Malta, advising against any transactions.
The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) has warned Vantage Markets, also known as Vantage FX, about operating without a permit or license in Malta. Issued last month, this notice attempts to alert the public to the fact that Vantage Markets is not registered in Malta and does not have the required licenses to provide financial advice or investment services under Maltese legislation.
The MFSA does not permit Vantage Markets to offer any financial services, including FX brokerage and ancillary services. The regulator warns customers not to deal with unregistered companies and stresses the need to confirm the validity of financial service providers. When dealing with financial services offered via unorthodox methods like phone calls and social media, the MFSA urges particular caution.
Vantage Markets has been the target of regulatory investigations before. In Malaysia, Italy, Spain, and Hong Kong, among other countries, financial authorities have issued such warnings. These cautions repeatedly point out that Vantage Markets is not approved and caution against doing business with them.
The financial sector in Malta is regulated by the MFSA, an independent body that was founded in 2002. Financial entities under the jurisdiction include banks, insurance companies, currency brokerage businesses, and financial consultants. The MFSA has various sections devoted to dealing with financial abuses and broker fraud, although its main priority is investor safety.
Investors are strongly advised to exercise caution and ensure that any financial service provider with whom they interact has the required licenses and permits. To uphold its standing for a sophisticated financial system and well-developed infrastructure, the MFSA keeps an eye on and regulates the financial sector in Malta.
The alert against Vantage Markets reminds investors to be on the lookout and do extensive research before dealing with any financial service providers, particularly those that are not authorized.
